Hey Folks, here is my latest single ‘City Walk’ taken from my second album ‘Alive’. I wrote this while on tour last year visiting my old home town of Brisbane. Riding the City Cat late at night with friends, a lot of memories came back about living in West End.
Sitting on the front steps of an old run down Queenslander share-house, drinking some cheap wine and watching the night unfold on the street through a haze of debauchery. The Cure, The Go-Betweens and The Smiths always frequenting the record player. In retrospect its a romantic view of artistic poverty, the reality however is never pretty.
I wanted the song to capture this feeling and I think it has. All thanks to a stella performance on drums by Craig Hadlow, Keys by Rob Kidd, Tearnu Graham on Bass and Nick Huggins (of ‘A pocket full of stones studio’) production, who always meets an idea with such creativity.
Hope you like it
Tobias and CMC and Golden Guitar award winner Fanny Lumsden are excited to announce they have teamed up with Rotary, and will be taking their music out on the road in July for 4 exciting shows in Central West QLD.
A mutual love and respect for Australian music and community has motivated these two celebrated artists to join forces and meet the Australian live outback audiences head on. Both Tobias and Fanny Lumsden have enjoyed much success having various singles receiving national airplay on Australian radio, along with performing at festivals throughout Australia, and sharing the stage with some of the country’s biggest names.

Woodford Folk Festival! I am such a big fan of this amazing event. A great way to top off a great year of touring my new album ‘Alive’.
After a big few months of recording and moving around the country I am finally getting back on the road to promote my new album ‘Alive’. I will be travelling all the way from The Sunshine Coast to Melbourne and back again playing at various exotic locations on the way! (Tour dates announced in the shows page) I released the second single off the album ‘Just A Boy’ recently which was received really well. The song is about a memory of family connection and came about after reflecting on the warmth and love my mother showed me and my brothers growing up on The Sunshine Coast.

Melbourne-based singer/songwriter Toby Robinson is set to release his latest single LIVE YOUR LIFE on 26th February, the first offering since his 2015 debut self-titled solo album.
To coincide with his newest release, Robinson will take his unique blend of folk, alt-country and indie pop on the road in March, starting in his home state of Queensland, before heading to Adelaide and Melbourne. Toby and his band will be joined by musical guests along the way, including Ayla (Triple J fame) who will appear for a one-off special show in Eumundi on the Sunshine Coast.
I am excited to announce that after the success of my album launch in July I’ll be once again packing my bags and hitting the road for a tour up the east coast of Australia. We are kicking off the tour with an awesome show at Bar Open (Fitzroy) with a great line up featuring Matt Glass Band and Seavera.
Excited to confirm officially that ‘Let You Down’ has been added to the ABC Local Radio playlist!! So I’ll be the ears across nearly 60 stations nationwide.
I’m grateful particularly to Myf Warhurst and Jacinta Parsons for their help getting my album to the right people.
So request a bit of Toby now on your local ABC!
After a successful Album launch in Melbourne, Toby is homeward bound to play a couple of special shows in Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast!
First stop is Brisbane City Sounds on Friday July 3rd, then off to Sunshine Coast to play The Bison bar. Then heading back to Brisbane to do a show with long-time friends and great band Laneway on Sunday 5th July.
